William Klein, an American born French photographer, is considered to be one of the fathers of street photography. At the age of 14 he enrolled at the City College of New York to study sociology. After entering Sorbonne in 1948, Klein developed his interest towards abstract painting and sculpture. Four years later 2 successful solo exhibitions were held in Milan. Later he developed himself as a photographer, creating photo essays in different cities.
Digital Camera World ranked him 25th out of 100 most influential photographers.
